Before having a great job, I had shitty jobs. Before shitty jobs, things we're even worse. This is a fund to help me pave the way for my future. To actually build a metaphoric road to financial independence.
You see, when I had one of those shitty jobs at a company that doesn't even exist anymore, I was stressed, I was doing the work of four people, and I was always under pressure to make other people's money. During such a time, I had to drive 80 miles one way to work sites each day and try to use the best of my time doing several things at the same time. This usually involved me getting up before 6am, and going to sleep after midnight. Long story short, I was usually behind and took back roads to get where I needed, through the middle of nowhere. I got a speeding ticket. Hurts when you live paycheck to paycheck. What's worse? Getting a second ticket the following week.
Longer story short, I couldn't pay them off, and after doing taxes at the end of the year, I get a tax money interception from the state saying the money was taken for paying a debt to the state. This was an exact amount of the two tickets together, so I was like, "Okay, that's fine."
Fast forward three years later (a renewed license, a new car, and other big changes) I get stopped on my way to work by an officer, and he comes back to tell me that my license has been revoked for the past two years.....then takes my license on the spot, and leaves.
So here's the deal: I have a nice newer car that I'm paying for and trying to keep a job with a nationally recognized company, but I live in the middle of nowhere with no public transportation and only 2 or 3 people I can bum rides from. I NEED my license back to keep my life moving forward. To do that, I have to pay just under $800 in ticket, fees, court cost, and handling fees, then reapply for my license once again.
Please help! I don't ask often, and definitely not for myself, but I can't do this one alone.
