Andrew Marsh's Medical Bills

Donation protected
On Saturday October 6th, Andrew was helping a man load a motorcycle on to a trailer when he passed out. The man started CPR and 911 was called. Paramedics continued CPR and he was defibrillated 4 times before they were able to get a normal heart rhythm. His brain did not receive oxygen for approximately 30 minutes. He was brought to the ER and was intubated. When the doctors tried to extubate him and he was unresponsive. This lead to a concern about brain activity.

The cause of the cardiac arrest is unknown but God knows. He makes no mistakes. We know that hospital bills will be high and we don’t want family to worry about finances. We want them to be able to focus solely on Andrew. They are an amazing family and have been a blessing to so many. All that have had the privilege of meeting Andrew talk about how hilarious Andrew is. It is impossible not to laugh and smile when in his presence. He is one of the most genuine and nicest people around. The Marsh family is a faithful family and believe that God has a plan. They are asking that Andrew be lifted in prayer and positivity. Please, if you are able, donate to this cause, share this post, and continue your prayers.

Updates from Andrews mom:

DAY 1:  “We’ve been through cancer, deaths, health issues but through it all we’ve seen God’s grace, love and mercy. And once again, we are clinging to the promises of God’s Word. Andrew is in ICU in critical condition. We almost lost him a second time about 3 hours ago but God spared his life. Drs are puzzled - with the exception of elevated liver enzyme levels, all his lab work, cardiac tests, and CT scans are all normal. The next few days will be crucial. We thank you for the outpouring of love and concern for him and our family. People have called and texted us saying “we wish we could do more” but in actuality, prayer is the most important act of love you can do for us on Andrew’s behalf. We love & appreciate all of you!”

“DAY 2: I think it would be best if I start fm the beginning about all that happened yesterday since my earlier post may have been a bit choppy.

Yesterday, at about 3:30 pm, Andrew was helping a man load a motorcycle on to a trailer when he passed out. The man started CPR and 911 was called. Paramedics continued CPR and he was defibrillated 4 times before they were able to get a normal heart rhythm, a total of about 30 minutes before his brain received oxygen. He was brought to the ER and was intubated. Later the Dr then tried to extubate him and he was unresponsive, which concerned the Drs about brain activity. So it was decided that Andrew’s core body temp be kept low for the next 48 hours in order to possibly help his neurological function. Some time tomorrow evening will be the 48 hour mark and at that time, he will be extubated, again, and determine how his brain function is at that time. An EEG will be done to see what brain activity there is. This is a critical time because his ability to follow commands will determine if lack of oxygen for those 30 minutes caused any brain damage.

The cause of the cardiac arrest is unknown but God knows. He makes no mistakes. As much as we love our son, our Heavenly Father loves Andrew more than we can ever comprehend so we trust and rest in our Father’s love.

My life verse is Proverbs 3:5&6 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In ALL thy ways, acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path.

We beg you to storm heaven’s throne on our son’s behalf. We love you all and overwhelmed by all of the support!”

“DAY 3: I know everyone has been waiting for news about today and my heart is just so overwhelmed for so many reasons. The Drs decreased Andrew’s sedation meds with the hopes of him waking up but it didn’t happen today, which is not uncommon. They will do an EEG tomorrow. There really has not been any significant changes. We’re asking for God to do the miraculous and ultimately give God ALL the honor and glory that is His.

Andrew is a loved young man. Six friends made long treks to come see him and more are coming. Thank you all!””

“EARLY DAY 4: My brother stayed with Andrew last night and around 12:15 am, Andrew reacted to pain stimulus by grimacing and he moved his left leg all on his own! These are the signs the neurologists wants to see. Yesterday, I came to the realization that we cannot expect movie-like results but rather rejoice in the baby steps.

With a grateful heart,
Eden”

“DAY 4: Yesterday I was feeling hopeless and today was certainly a different story. Things that we don’t think about like opening our eyes, withdrawing our foot from someone inflicting pain on it, squeezing a hand, swallowing, a slight movement of the arm made this momma extremely happy and able to breathe a sigh of relief. There were many happy tears today. As each day passes, Ray & I are realizing that this new road our family is on is going to be a long one and steps taken on this road will be very slow. But it is a road that God put us on and He knows where all the bumps and potholes are and we just need to walk this road in faith. My phone has not stopped ringing or buzzing for 4 days now and with each message I get, my eyes well up and my heart overflows with gratitude for all that is said and deeds that are done. We love you all.”
