Andrew Lepri's Eagle Scout Project

Donation protected
Hello, I'm Andrew! I am currently a Life Scout in Boy Scouts of America's Troop 215 in Bethel Park, PA.  My goal is to become an Eagle Scout, which is the highest rank a Boy Scout can earn. A major requirement for achieving Eagle Scout is to carry out a project that will benefit the community in some way.  I have chosen an ambitious project to rebuild two pedestrian shelters along The Montour Trail.

This project will cost about $2,000.00. I have been raising money selling candy, hosting a fundraising night at my workplace Panera Bread, and reaching out to local businesses. I still have a long way to go to reach my goal.  It will mean so much to me to be able to provide these shelters for the trail users and achieve the Eagle Scout rank.

I hope you will consider making a donation by September 1.

My Boy Scout Journey
I am 17 years old and a senior at Bethel Park High School.  Boy Scouting has been an important part of my life since I began as a Cub Scout in first grade.  I’ve been active in my Troop earning required and optional merit badges; serving in leadership roles; volunteering in the community; and enjoying a number of outdoor adventures.  My dedication to Boy Scouting earned me a nomination and induction into the prestigious Order of the Arrow Brotherhood, considered to be the Boy Scouts of America’s national honor society.

My Project - Why and What
Since some of my most memorable and challenging experiences as a Boy Scout took place on The Montour Trail, I felt moved to give back to this resource.  I am working with David Oyler, who is a Director of The Montour Trail Board.  With my team, I will be tearing down two existing patron shelters that have fallen into disrepair (see photo).

Then, we will build new shelters designed for improved stability and appeal. The sketch below shows how they will look. My hope is that the hundreds of bikers, hikers, runners and walkers will use these shelters to rest and take cover for many years to come.

Donations needed by September 1.
