Andrew Bergen Medical Expenses

Last year, after returning to Australia from Tokyo, Andrew collapsed without warning and was rushed, unconscious to hospital. It turns out he had somehow contracted blood poisoning, which had travelled to his heart. As a result of the poisoning and related complications Andrew had emergency surgery to his heart and brain and was subsequently in hospital and rehab for over six months. In this time he was only able to see his partner Yoko and daughter Cocoa once and was unable to look for employment as he'd intended.

While Andrew's aim remains to transition back into a regular life and job in Australia, it's proving difficult and taking more time than he hoped. Andrew needs more time for rehab and to heal and to get back on his feet so he can reunite with his family and resume more of a normal life. Despite all his efforts this is going to take some time and in this time, he'll need money to live. 

In Tokyo, Andrew had a job he loved as an inspiring teacher to high school students. He was passionate about his job and couldn't have imagined that he wouldn't be doing the same thing in Australia to keep earning money.
