Andrea's Immigration Fund

On October 6th, I received a letter from immigration denying my work visa. What does this mean? After working hard and being sponsored by a company to stay in the US, this denial leaves me unable to work or stay in the country.

This was extremely unexpected given that I had been picked in the visa lottery and was being sponsored by a company.

I came to the US with a scholarship to go to Suffolk University, graduated with honors, and worked for a company that sponsored me to get a work visa. I have built a life here, made friends, found my partner and even got a dog. The US has become my home. But after all of this, my work visa was denied given the current political climate and stricter regulations...

This decision was effective immediately, and I've had to since then stop working and figure out my next steps. I am applying for a green card, but this is a long and expensive process.

While applying for the green card, I am able to stay in the US, but I am not authorized to work and therefore have no income for the next 3-4 months while I wait for the paperwork. In addition to having to support myself for this time, I also have to pay for lawyers and fees to get my green card.

The funds will be used to help me pay for my immigration fees, as follows:
$2,500 attorney fees
$1700 United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) fees
$200 other filing fees
$600 medical examination (necessary for green card)

Any donation helps and I would be extremely grateful! If you are not unable to donate, please share this with your friends and help me fight this unfair immigration nightmare.

Thank you,
