Friends, I really want a pony!
I have been riding for about six years now. Goldspirit Farm, where I take lessons, is my happy place. It is where I go to get relief from stress. A place of peace where I can focus on my relationships with a few special animals and people.
A few months ago, I met Roo, a 14 year old Paint. Roo is the one and only horse I have ever wanted to buy. I fell in love with him the first time I rode him. He is my "steady Eddie." A little quirky, like me. Not the easiest ride, but completely dependable. He is the horse that is helping me get over my many fears. I trust him to safely take me over jumps and down trails.
For me, horseback riding isn't about competing or winning ribbons. It is about developing a relationship with horses. It is about improving my skills. It is about being at a place where, as the song goes, my troubles seem so far away. There have been a few horses at the barn over the years that have been special to me: Felix, the first horse I ever rode at Goldspirit Farm; Bachelor, the first horse I ever took over a jump; Patrick, whose goofy personality I still enjoy so much.
I have been leasing Roo three days a week over the summer, and I just love him. He is a perfect match for me. His owner, who has two other horses at the barn, now needs to sell him. I am absolutely grieving that he might leave the barn, so here we are, at GoFundMe.
I would be forever grateful if you can help me achieve this life dream and donate what you can. Any funds over the amount needed to purchase Roo will be put towards his upkeep.
