This Go Fund Me page has been set up to help my sister Ana Oleksy, a 39-year-old loving mother of two and wife in her ongoing battle with cancer. This is her story....
It was Christmas 2017 and after finding a small lump under her armpit, Ana underwent several series of tests at Yale. These tests revealed her diagnosis as Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The first two weeks of 2018 were the worse weeks of our lives.
After 2nd opinions from Sloan Kettering, in New York City, and from Dana Farber Cancer Institute, in Boston, all agreed on the appropriate treatment plan. She is now undergoing aggressive chemotherapy treatment at Yale. Next, she is due for surgery and then radiotherapy. It is a difficult and challenging time, but she is carrying on looking forward and praying every day that her treatment is a success.
With no blood relatives in the United States, our mom was able to fly in and help Ana with the kids and house chores for only 40 days. Now that mom went back home to attend her job in Brazil, I am here with my family (husband and two daughters) to help our loved Oleksy family.
Though many of these treatments have great success rates, we continue to pray and ask all that will listen to keep Ana in their prayers. My sister has already been through so much and has inspired so many of us throughout her life. She has always been a very strong person and full of purpose. She is always willing to help whoever is in need, even if that means putting herself last. She is a very fair and protective person. When we were little she always felt the need to protect me even though I’m the oldest one, and I always felt safe around her. She is loved by many friends and family around the world and they all have been amazing during this difficult time.
We would love to help her and her beautiful family through their difficult journey ahead.
The donations made here will help pay the costs for the Insurance Co-Payments and the travel expenses that have reached over $4000 so far.
We want to support Ana and her family as much as possible and help ease their financial burden. Any amount that you are able to contribute will mean so much to us.
Meanwhile I keep praying that God will continue to bless us through these challenging times. My sister’s laugh means the world to me and I can’t wait for the day when this will be all behind us and we’ll all be laughing together again.
