Anas battle against brain tumor

Nuestra hermana, Ana Laura, tiene 20 años. Es estudiante de tercer año de Derecho en la Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) donde ha sobresalido por su liderazgo, actitud y humor. También dirige con algunos amigos un proyecto de sostenibilidad ambiental llamado Colectivo Ambiental Nicaraguense (CAN). Siempre ha sido muy activa, practicaba danza y voleibol; y todos los que la conocen saben que es una persona alegre, entusiasta y dispuesta a ayudar a los demás, en varias ocasiones ha sido proactiva con causas sociales principalmente cuando se trata de ayudar a alguien mas, dicha razon fue la que la motivo a estudiar la carrera de derecho, siendo su vocación defender a las personas que mas lo necesitan.
Desde hace un par de meses nuestra hermana, Ana Laura, ha estado teniendo algunos mareos y dolores de cabeza, el 5 de mayo 2020 sufrió un desmayo donde convulsionó por lo que un doctor nos recomendó realizarle una tomografía y visitar a un neurologo. El neurologo después de una revisión exhaustiva determinó que tiene un tumor que cubre un 25% del cerebro.
Todavía no sabemos como debemos proceder con lo del tumor, el siguiente paso es visitar a un neurocirujano y realizarle ciertos examenes, necesita una resonancia magnetica entre otras cosas que nos ayudarán a determinar como debemos tratarla. Lo que si sabemos es que el procedimiento sea cual sea, será bastante costoso. Por el momento hemos sido lo suficientemente afortunados de poder cubrir los primeros examenes, pero sabemos que no podremos abarcar lo que viene. Ahorita Ana Laura esta viviendo con nuestros abuelos y una de nosotras, nuestros papás tuvieron que exiliarse hace un poco más de un año en Estados Unidos por lo que se les es imposible acompañarnos en este dificil momento. Es por esto que apreciamos cualquier ayuda economica que pueda nacer desde su corazón en estos momentos, sabemos que la crisis del COVID-19 es dura y principalmente por eso agradecemos cualquier aporte por más pequeño que sea.

Our sister, Ana Laura, is 20 years old. She is a third-year law student at Central American University (UCA) where she has excelled for her leadership, attitude and, humor. She also runs with a couple of friends an environmental sustainability project called Colectivo Ambiental Nicaraguense (CAN). She has always been very active, she practiced dance and volleyball; everyone who knows her knows that she is a happy persona, enthusiastic and willing to help others, on several occasions she has been proactive with different social causes, especially when it comes to helping someone else, which was the main reason that motivated her to study law, being her vocation to defend the people who need it the most.
For a couple of months, our sister has been having some dizziness and headaches. On May 5, 2020, she fainted and convulsed, so a doctor recommended that we perform a head CT scan and visit a neurologist. The neurologist after a thorough review determines that she has a tumor that covers 25% of her brain. We still don´t know how we should proceed with the tumor, the next step is to visit a neurosurgeon and perform certain tests, she needs an MRI among other things that will help us determine how we should treat her. What we do know is that whatever the procedure is, it will be quite expensive. At the moment we have been fortunate enough to be able to cover the first exams, but we know that we will not be able to afford what is yet to come. Right now Ana Laura is living with our grandparents and Andrea, our older sister; our parents had to go into exile a little over a year ago in the United States, making it impossible for them to accompany us in this difficult time. This is why we appreciate any financial aid that may arise from your heart right now, we know that the COVID-19 crisis has been tough and for that reason, we appreciate any contribution, no matter how small it is.
