Ana's Battle

Ana Clavijo: A mother, grandmother, and a nurse.  She is a single mother who worked as a nurse and caretaker.  She is a generous person who had a passion to take care of others- she never judged and always had an ear for those around her. She was always willing to help anyone whether she knew them or not.  She always took care of everyone but herself.

She was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer on December 24th, 2016. Following her diagnosis, she had a bilateral mastectomy on June 2017 and heard she was cancer-free March 2018.  During her treatment she never lost hope and remained strong for not only herself, but her four children, and 5 grandchildren.

Most recently, she was having severe headaches, and kept her pain silent. Unwillingly, her daughter, my friend, took her to the emergency room one morning due to her high fever, sweating, and vomiting.  During her ER visit, the doctors ran several tests and found a massive tumor in her brain. She underwent brain surgery two days after which removed majority of the tumor. Post surgery she had radiation treatment to attempt to remove any of the remaining tumor.  A month later the doctor informed her that her cancer had spread more including down her spine. 

With great sadness, the passing of Ana Clavijo occurred on September 26th, early morning. Our lovely Anna spent her last moments at home, in peace surrounded by her closest loved ones. 

Through this difficult journey, I would like to raise funds for Ana and her children to help with all the medical expenses and memorial that have accrued. Any donations of any kind would be greatly appreciated by Ana and the family.
