Do you think you could complete an Iron Man style triathlon (42.2k run/walk, 180k cycle, 4k swim) in a month / three weeks / a fortnight / a week / three days / two days / a day?
Find out by joining supporters, friends, family, and the service users themselves of An Saol in the Iron Month challenge.
The Iron Month serves to remind us that everyone has different abilities and capabilities in life. Some people may be able to complete the whole challenge in one day. Others may take weeks or days. It is up to you how much of the challenge you complete at a time, logging your walk/run/cycle/swim as you go. The aim of the game is to have gone the distance by midnight on Sunday 30 May.
The Iron Month is being run to raise funds for An Saol, a rehabilitation centre for people with severe Acquired Brain Injury (sABI).
At An Saol, we afford every opportunity to people with sABI to live their life with dignity and respect, to continue to improve, to regain as much independence and self-determination as possible, and for their injuries to heal, supported by adequate therapies.
In doing this, our experienced therapists use state of the art rehabilitative and orthopedic technologies and methods.
While An Saol does receive much needed funding from the HSE, we need to continuously fundraise to sustain and develop our services.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and goes towards vital support for the most vulnerable in our community.
Even if you can't join in the challenge, we would really appreciate if you could spread the word and make a donation to the cause. Please spread the word on your own social media, using the hashtag, #IronMonth
