An Autism service dog for Owen

Donation protected

Hello everyone!

We are hoping to help fundraise to help support the cost of training Cooper to be Owens Service dog.  Owen is autistic and and a service dog can be an amazing companion for him that can help in so many ways. Here are just a few.

-Owen has severe anxiety and suffers from meltdowns and panic attacks. Cooper can be trained to sense Owens anxiety and prompt owen to pet cooper and do other activities to distractand calm Owen

-Cooper can also provide deep pressure therapy to Owen. Similar to a waited blanket.

- Owen struggles with transitions and going out and about to places. Cooper can be the familiar safe place for Owen and help keep him calm and help out through his therapy appointments. Going to the store, or sporting events.

-Autistic children are known for eloping. Cooper will be trained to “find Owen” if we are in a public place and Owen wonders off or gets away from me he can help find him .

- When Owen gets overstimulated he also has an urge to run ahead or off The service dog can walk with Owen and pace Owen to stay withthe family and act as a second set of eyes to keep Owen safe.

-There is also a huge social aspect to Owen having a service animal. Lots of autistic children struggle socially and to make meaningful connections with other people. A service dog is an amazing friend to Owen and also gives him a topic of conversation to discuss with people !

- So much more !
