Help an Afghan refugee family purchase a car
Donation protected
Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Durham North Carolina is helping a refugee family adjust to life in the United States after fleeing the Taliban. The father drove a car for the US Army in Afghanistan, so we would like to buy him a used van for his large, lovely family. This will help them on the path to becoming self-sufficient new Americans.
For safety, we are not placing any specific information about the family online, but the picture above shows some of the children's hands decorated with henna. The church has already donated school supplies and has spent many hours helping the family with medical appointments. We cannot afford to buy the vehicle by ourselves, and the family can't either, though the father and the oldest son are working. We are counting on more people stepping up. Please donate, and email the church if you have a lead on used vehicles in the triangle area of North Carolina. There are other ways that you could help; for more information please contact the church (https://www.stpaulsdurham.org/) or Lutheran World Services. All of the funds raised will go to the vehicle. If any money is left over we will use it to buy other family necessities.
