On Mission to Kodiak, AK!

Donation protected
I am now in my final year of undergraduate work at the University of New Orleans, and the Lord has been so faithful! He is doing wonderful things and I know He will continue to show his faithfulness as I am planning to attend New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in the fall. But following my last semester, I would like to share with you an amazing opportunity God has given me! I have decided to serve God on the mission field this summer. From May 17th through the 26th, I will be traveling with FBC Jackson to Kodiak, Alaska to serve alongside the local churches to reach those in the community.
Our team will be serving with Alaska Missions during our time in Kodiak. Specifically we will be working at the Kodiak Crab Festival doing family and outreach ministry work. The Kodiak Crab Festival is a central part of life on Kodiak Island. They celebrate the new spring session with five days of food and fun activities! Alaska Missions equips this fun, life-changing outreach by running a booth, giving away hot cocoa, doing crafts, face painting, music, and more, while serving the community and seizing the opportunity to share the gospel! In addition, we will also be taking part in local service projects in the community.
It's so humbling to hear about how the Lord has already moved in Kodiak, and I'm so incredibly thankful that God has given me this opportunity to love and serve there as well.
I can't think of a better way to celebrate graduation than by taking the time the Lord has given me to go. I want the people of Kodiak to hear about the love and hope that is Jesus! Alaska is a state unlike any other. It is twice the size of Texas, but has a total population less than that of El Paso. It is such a private and independent state, and is one not very open to the gospel. But that shouldn't hinder us to share the good news. "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?" Romans 10:14
Adding up all expenses for this trip, the overall cost is $1500. This is the money for airfare and living expenses. If you are able or feel led to give any amount from $30 to $100, I am so very thankful and consider it such a blessing!

The power of prayer is something that can never been underestimated, for we cannot make an impact without the guidance and work of the Holy Spirit. While finances are important, they come second. Here are some ways you can be praying:
- Give our team safety as we travel and work in the various mission projects.
- Prepare our team to minster in a way that would impact and reach the people of Kodiak.
- Give me wisdom in my own personal witness.
- Prepare the hearts of the people we will come in contact with to hear the gospel of Jesus.
- Give us opportunities to share the gospel, and give us courage to take those opportunities.
- That God would provide financial needs.
