Hello & thank you for taking the time to read my story,

                              Why I need a psychiatric service dog, and why I need your Help! I have Bipolar 1 disorder, depression, personality disorder, suicidal tendencies ,PTSD, paranoia, anxiety disorder and I  have hallucinations. I have tried to kill myself twice. I survived a brutal rape at 15. Lastly I'm a survivor of Domestic violence.
 

These Psychiatric Service Dog's have reached people like me on a level that No Human can!


I am raising money to self train a puppy as my Psychiatric Service Dog & companion for my disorders and disabilities. I will be training the puppy with the help of my family and a trainer. I will be the handler. The breeder I will be using breeds for temperment, and wants her puppies to be used  as working dogs. You can see her website at happylabtails.com. 

Normally I would rescue a dog but because so many dogs washout of service dog training I'm using a specific breeder to increase our chance of success!

I'm Choosing to train myself because the cost of an already trained psychiatric service dog is around $20,000.

I can no longer work due to the severity of my disabilities. I can't  go  grocery shopping and I will not leave my apartment unless I'm going to therapy or  my fiance is with me. My fiance does everything! I have been on medication management my entire adult life and I see my therapist once a week. I see my psychiatrist for my medication every few months. 

My current treatment plan is Not Enough for Me to be Independent!


I have and continue to help myself all I can. Now I am asking for HELP from others to have a chance at being more Independent so I can live life again without the countless fears!

My Psychiatric disorders prevent me from living a normal life!

After doing some research I learned about Psychiatric service dogs. these dog's have had life changing impacts for people like me suffering with these dabilitating disorders! They regained their Independence!


Getting a psychiatric service dog has been recommend from my Therapist as another step in my treatment plan to help me get my life back!

I also learned that you can train your own psychiatric service dog!

This amazing service dog will be trained to perform crowd control in public, alerting me to anyone coming up behind me, lead me to a safe place during a episode and  perform deep pressure  therapy for my panic attacks both in public and at home, he will also alert me when I am doing self harming actions! He will bring me back to the present moment with what is called "Grounding Therapy". He will also wake me up when I don't respond to my alarm!


(Once fully trained of course.)

He will be a specialized service dog that will help me regain my Independence!


I am a 42 year old mother of one beautiful little girl, she will be 8 in May! I am also blessed with the most Loving, understanding, patient and kind hearted man that will soon be my husband and father of my daughter!


"The Back Story"
I have suffered with psychiatric disorders starting around 14 years old. I have tried to kill myself twice and still have suicidal tendencies. I also have PTSD from past traum.


My first husband of 10 years used his military training to restrain me while he beat and verbally abused me. In the end he went to prison for trying to strangle me to death.

Then in 2010 I met my second husband that promised me the world but instead DESTROYED it! Over a 3 year marriage and daily abuse either physical, verbal or emotional. He put his gun to my head and shoved it in my mouth. The emotional and psychological scars (unseen) cause the MOST pain of all! 


He will be released from prison in November of 2018. 


My daughter and I fled the State! 

The specialized training process will take me & the puppy about 1 year to complete,  sometimes longer.

*   The cost of this Amazing (puppy) to train as my Psychiatric Service Dog is $1,750.


*    I am asking for an additional $1,750 to help me pay for a professional trainer once the specialized task training begins. I will also have to purchase all of the legal certifications and  gear for my Psyciatric Service Dog. I will have to pay for his veterinary visits to have him vaccinated and neutered.
