Hi, my name is Amy-May and I’m currently in Year 10. I’ve been given the incredible opportunity to travel to Costa Rica in 2027 for four weeks with Camp International to support local communities and take part in environmental conservation projects.

I’ve always loved being around wildlife, even from a young age, and I’ve always tried to make the most out of life by trying new things. Over the years I’ve taken part in lots of different hobbies such as swimming, football, netball, horse riding, being a Brownie, skiing, rock climbing, golf and even shotgun shooting. Because of this, the chance to take part in an expedition like this and work with wildlife and the environment would be a truly life-changing experience for me.

During the expedition I’ll be working on projects that aim to make an ethical and sustainable impact on local communities, wildlife, and the environment. As part of the trip I’ll also be working towards my Open Water scuba diving qualification, which will allow me to explore marine ecosystems and learn more about how to protect them.

This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will help me develop new skills, experience a different culture, and contribute to important environmental work.

To take part, I need to raise £5,520 to cover the expedition costs, travel, accommodation, and activities. Alongside this page, I will hopefully be hosting fundraising events and taking part in sponsored challenges to help reach my goal.
