<div>On New Year’s Day, our dear friend Amy’s Watsonville home suffered irreparable damage when water began forcing its way into the house during the unprecedented storm that hit Santa Cruz County. Amy, and her mother, Susan, could only watch helplessly as their comfortable nest was submerged in water. 
</div>
<div>They learned the water was contaminated after it was “red-tagged” by the county, which means it’s unsafe to enter the house without hazmat protection. It also means that the home will need to be rebuilt, and most of the belongings inside—furniture, beds, appliances--need to be replaced. In the meantime, Amy is paying thousands for a rental large enough to house her mom and children.

<div>As a single mother of two amazing boys, a lifelong educator, and a pillar of the Pajaro Valley Unified School District, Amy deserves love from the community she loves and wholeheartedly dedicates herself to every day. 
</div>
