<div>My son Josh, lives in Texas and is 31 years old. I was waiting to post anything until he was stabilized and we had a more recent update from his surgeon. We also were met with the investigating Police officer handling this case to get more clarification as to what really happened.

<div>Josh was hit from behind on his motorcycle by an alleged drunk driver and dragged under an suv for 1300 ft.(4 football fields) The officers said it was a horrific scene with a lot of blood and did not think Josh would still be alive afterwards. He ultimately had his left leg amputated right in the middle the knee and has had 10+ blood transfusions. He will have a 3rd surgury on his leg tomorrow along with skin grafts in the near future on his arm and shoulder as the muscle is visible from the road rash. Josh remembers everything about this accident from seeing the headlights in his rear view mirrors, speeding up a little to try to be further away from this guy, being hit &amp; dragged, seeing the sparks, feeling the pain and wondering when this vehicle was going to stop. Josh also saw a very bright light and his Grandmother and Great Uncle Rich telling him it was not his time,

<div>all while the driver said “he didn’t even know he hit him”

<div>That man is in jail right now on his alleged 3rd DWI and resisting arrest but more charges are pending after they receive all video footage from the truck drivers dash cams that witnessed the accident. They were a great deal of help in preventing any further injury to Josh by blocking the thruway and we appreciate them for their humanity. We’re also so grateful to the First responders in their dedication in savings lives and the police officers for their commitment to pursuing justice for victims. The nurses and Dr’s have been wonderful and they have the upmost respect for their patients.

<div>Josh is in a significant amount of pain and keeps reliving and talking about this awful accident. We’re grateful he did his research and bought the better protective gear and the helmet I mailed to him just 2 weeks ago that really made a difference in the ultimate outcome of this.

</div>
