Founded in 1976 as a madrigal choir, the Arcadian Singers are made up of 24 people, consisting of students and staff from Oxford University and Oxford residents. We perform at least one concert a term in Oxford and also participate in a number of other musical ventures both in and outside the city. Over the years we have recorded two successful CDs, broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and toured yearly.
This Easter, we are planning our 25th Anniversary Ampleforth Abbey visit, where we are lucky to have been granted use of the Abbey to record a CD on Easter Monday. The CD will comprise of some repertoire from our concert in Ampleforth Abbey and other repertoire from the masses we will be singing there over the Easter period.
The money raised from crowdfunding will help supplement our costs for the equipment and personnel required to help us record our CD, such as microphone hire, sound engineer fees, and production costs. The CD will be sold at Ampleforth Abbey, which we hope will provide not only a great record for us, but a great sounding record that captures the music we have performed over the Easter Tridium.
Take a look at our promotional video for more information, and please do consider a donation, we would be extremely grateful and hope we are able to go ahead with this incredible experience.
