Help Yaneth!

Janet is a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, and a friend. She also has cancer and it's a pain in her butt.

No, really. It's a pain in her butt.

Just six short months ago Janet started feeling pain in her lower back, buttocks, and upper leg area. At first she thought it was sciatica, which is pain along the sciatic nerve. She tried everything to stop the pain - massages, medication - but nothing worked. The pain was so debilitating that she would be doubled over and was unable to work.

The pain got worse until finally it was unbearable and Janet couldn't do anything but go to the ER for some relief. It was there at the end of January that a CAT scan revealed a mass on Janet's spine. By the end of February she held a diagnosis of Osteosarcoma on her sacrum. Osteosarcoma is a cancer that starts in the bone. The cancerous tumor is entwined in her sacrum. Because removal was risky, Janet underwent four rounds of chemotherapy while they searched for a doctor willing to attempt to remove the tumor. All of this within six months.

A doctor was finally found! But that doctor is in Houston. The surgery will last two days - one day to remove the mass and bone and another to reconstruct her bone. She'll need an additional two to three weeks of rehabilitation and therapy.

Janet is ready to go! She's ready to be healthy and live a long life with her husband, Jose, and her two children, Isai and Mia. But being on one income for the last six months has made this trip a difficult decision. She might have to face some of this trip alone, as her husband has to stay back in Tucson and work.

Janet and Jose are trying to make this trip to Houston happen. They have no choice.

So please help them. Please help Janet. This is the home stretch and this surgery is absolutely necessary as the chemo has stopped the growth of the tumor but hasn't minimized it. It has to be surgically removed. The costs of the trip to Houston and the extended stay for Janet and anyone who can be with her so she isn't alone is quite stressful in a time when Janet should be focusing on her health. Not her finances.

If you can help donate to her trip Janet and Jose would be forever grateful. If you can't donate, please say a prayer for Janet, that she may get to Houston soon, get that pain out of her butt, and return home to her family who loves her so much.

Thank you and God bless you.
