Ammo’s Surgery and Follow-up

Hello everyone,
After much consideration and pride we have decided that any bit of help is grateful for Ammo our basenji dog whom we love so much. On Tuesday, November 26th, he escaped from our home and ran out of the front door from our building and ran into the street causing a mini-van to hit him. We thought he was a goner and were so glad to find he made his way to the other side of the street. We rushed him to the ER. X-Rays were done and thankfully all of his organs were in tact, however his bones weren’t and he had a bit of road rash and cuts. He suffered a right sacroiliac subluxation, left ilial body fracture, left pubic fracture, and a left ischial fracture. So far we have spent $11,541.79 on his emergency room visit and his surgery. He still has to do some follow-ups and therapy which is additional money and we hope he heals right so he can go back to living the best life he can have. We are waiting for our pet insurance to reimburse us $5,000, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for that, but this has caused us to incur some credit card debt that we had not planned for and has been a hardship for our family being that we just bought a house and we had to dip into our closing costs account for half of it. We’ve been counting the days that Ammo can run in our backyard and know it won’t be possible anytime soon. We are so grateful for any donations and the love you all have shared for Ammo. We will forever be indebted to you all and will not hesitate to return the favor when needed. We appreciate the love and all the support Ammo and our family has received. You guys are the best.
