<div>The definition and reflection of Americana is a personal one. Often influenced by where someone grew up and their cultural surroundings, but also how different generations view Americana. Teenagers today may not know Americana symbols like Elvis Presley and drive-in movies, but they are highly memorable for a teenager that grew up in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. In the last century, some may argue that Americana has devolved from a positively presented image of hope and opportunities to one of distrust and reexamination of our society. For example, immigrants and US citizens view the Statue of Liberty much differently today than in 1887 when it was gifted to our country.

<div>Therefore, it is the intention of the show to <strong>“RECALL” American iconography</strong>, much like a defective product. An iconography that has taken form through American symbols of freedom, its celebrities, and entrepreneurial spirit. A presentation of artwork that asks questions and reveals surprises about the evolution of Americana in our country.

<div>Many Participating artists in this show, including myself, are scenic artists. In recent years, we have experienced challenging times working in the entertainment business. We often have to take side jobs to make our bottom line. Please help support and promote our group. This show will not only examine our current American culture, but will increase our visibility as artists and continue to support our upstate communities like Ellenville NY.

<div>PLEASE NOTE: many of the participating artists will have art work for sale in a “presale” via the website. Launch of this presale will be August 22, 2025. If you’re interested please check website at that point. Additionally remember there are fees associated with commerce &amp; shipping online. Lastly, it is our intention to support the artists, not take advantage of them. There will be a 10% “gallery fee” that will be an additional donation to a local Ellenville business to be decided. Thank you.
