Firik Family died in Turkey

I have become a heartbroken father this week in the wake of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey. My daughter, son in law, and their two beautiful children were found beneath the rubble of a five story building that collapsed. My son in law’s mother also perished under the debris in this unimaginable event.

My family has lost the light of our lives, and have been grief stricken since hearing this news. My granchildren were only 2 years old and 1 year old, and I can’t wrap my mind around this tragedy that will forever impact our family. I keep imagining that they will be coming back to our home in NY and hearing the sound of their footsteps and laughter at our breakfast table….but I know this will only be in my dreams now.

I am asking on behalf of my deceased daughter for any help to support her inlaws in Elbistan. She was always a kind soul who would put others needs above her own, and I know this is what she would want to do. Her father inlaw, brother in laws and their children have lost their homes and their entire livelihood. Any money raised will go to support rebuilding a home for them and support their basic living expenses and education.
