American Italian Documentary

My documentary film, "American Italian," is about the immigration and integration of Italians into American society. I tell the story of my family, going back 100 years from when my grandparents arrived, to the present. I am using old photographs but also 8mm home-movies from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The film will intersperse interviews, the old home-movies, and experts who will discuss the history of immigration and Italian Americans in particular. I think you will find it enlightening, informative, intriguing, and totally enjoyable!

The first goal goal we have is to raise $7500 in June. That will help cover the costs of traveling to NY for interviews,traveling to Florida for interviews, and most importantly, travel to/from Italy. I will be re-creating my grandparents' journey from Italy to NY, traveling by ship into NY harbor. This was also the journey my father took during WWII, and it was the journey of millions of immigrants into America!
