Amelia's missions trip w/ YWAM

Dear friends and family,

I have been at the Youth With A Mission in Brisbane for seven weeks now. I can't believe how fast the time is speeding by. So much has happened in the very short time I have been here. I can't possibly tell you everything, but I will highlight some of the things.

My YWAM family here is just so amazing. I could rant about each person forever, but I won’t. Don’t worry! I share a room with twelve girls from different countries around the world. Surprisingly, we all get along very well.

I’ve been learning so much about God, His love, how He pursues us, and so much more it hurts my brain! (In a good way.) God has been setting my heart free of many things, and showing me who I am in Christ and who He is in me. God is so awesome and loving and just agh! There’s not a good enough word for me to use to describe Him! I can’t wait to learn more about Him, and grow in Him! I don't want to hold back from everything God has planned for me.

Recently we traveled up the coast where we were able to minister to the college community. We were out from 9 am to 2 am every day for a week.
During the day we tried to interact with people through games like volleyball or pool parties. In the evening we set up a tent with Ping Pong and a DJ for dancing to attract the college kids to join us. They did! We served pancakes and Chi Tea, interacted and talked with them, comforted the ones who were crying and helped the ones who were throwing up. We even took some to the hospital. Talk about an eye-opening experience! Through it all, I have seen hearts soften to the love of God.

I’ve also done a few local outreaches that include; helping at a school color run, sports in the park with neighborhood kids, and prayer walks. I love when we have outreaches so much and can’t wait for all the upcoming ones, especially ones that we will be able to use our music at!

Finally, I just found out that my next mission location is Malaysia! There is a team of eight of us going together. In Malaysia, we will be ministering in the slums in many ways. I know it will be a life-changing experience for me and prayerfully for those in Malaysia. I will leave Australia the first week of February and remain in Malaysia until the end of March when I will return to Australia.

At this point, I am $2000 short of the funds I need to continue on to Malaysia. If you have not done so, would you consider supporting me?

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING ME!

Dear friends and family,

Has God ever surprised you, shaken up your world? One week ago, my plan was not what it is now.  Why?  Because God has called me to do something different, and I want to answer and follow Him.  I am so excited to tell you about the new adventure God has opened up for me to be part of.

I have the opportunity to spend 6 months abroad with YWAM, Youth With A Mission. I will be leaving September 20th and beginning the program on October 11.   Yes, that is only 2 months from now.  Talk about last minute.  God’s plans are not always our plans, but they are always good.  God, is in the business of moving mountains, and I believe He is doing that for me.  He is shaking up my world,  and I welcome it!

Throughout the training phase, the first three months, in Australia I will be ministering locally in schools and around the city and region in coffee shops, churches, and evangelistic events through dance,  music, and art. Obviously, the climax of the time will be the awesome buzz of being able to take my skills and what I have created and use it on mission trips, the final three months,  in other parts of the world.  Australia, India, Japan, the Pacific Island,  Malaysia, and Peru are all nations around the world where God desires to shed His light into the hearts of people. It will be a wonderful experience to lead people to the Lord using my gifts and talents

YWAM’s Music, Art, and Dance  Discipleship Training School  (MAD DTS) focuses on the heart issues, my character and development in God,  and His will for my life as well as teaches me to use my gifts of art and music to minister to others.   It’s impossible for anyone to serve God through their gifting until they have God’s heart.

Would you prayerfully consider supporting me in prayer and financially,  in this endeavor?  I have worked diligently and saved the first half of the money required, but need the rest as soon as possible in order to go.   I have a few weeks to raise the other half of my funds, $5000.  I leave September 20th!  If you would like to support me, please make an online donation at https://www.gofundme.com/ameli as-missions-trip  or send donations to  Amelia Bernhardt 170 Oak Drive Pasadena, MD 21122.

Thank you so much for considering supporting me through prayer and finances.  I cannot do this without you!   Thank you for all of your love and support over the years.  I am so grateful for all of you.

In His palm,

Amelia
