Amelia (Nikki) Aid for Charity's Cremation and Final Goodbye

Hi my name is Amelia (Nikki) Charity’s biological daughter. Charity is my birth mother. It is with a heavy heart that I have to even make this post. Charity has been in the hospital since July of 2024. She had a fall and broke her pelvis and from there it’s been down hill. She hasn’t been able to walk since July. She has had many strokes and heart attacks. She keeps getting ulcers from being in the bed immobile for almost 8 months now. She is also on dialysis three times a week. This being said we had to go through the process of me getting power of attorney for her because she couldn’t make decisions on her own anymore. I got a call about two weeks ago saying they are running tests due to her having another stroke and heart attack. Her doctor called me today and told me I need to make the decision to stop all treatments or continue but continuing treatments are inhumane because of the issues she’s having. He said there’s basically nothing more we can do to help her and machines and dialysis are prolonging her life for a very short time. She’s in too bad of shape to get any surgeries done to possibly help. All this being said after talking with her sister April we have decided it’s in Charitys best interest that we stop treatments. She has lived a beautiful life and her body is just very tired at this point. The doctor has given her a week to live two weeks max once treatment has stopped. I am trying to raise funds for any expenses she will leave behind and to get up to her. Her care team and social worker have asked me to come to Maine for paper work and plans for her etc. Thank you so much for everyone’s love and support in this difficult time.
