Ambika's 17th Birthday Fundraiser

Hey,

My birthday is coming up soon (June 27th) and my friends were asking me what I wanted. I realised that I don't want anything for myself, nor do I need anything for myself, and realised I would actually rather any money spent on a potential gift, to go to a charity of my choice.

I have decided that I would like the money to go to the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Fund. This charity was set up in memory of Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered in a racially motivated attack in 1993. It works with disadvantaged young people, to give them opportunities and skills they need to be successful and reach their potential. I think this is such an important cause, as I am privileged enough to have plenty of opportunities that will help me be successful, and if other people got these same opportunities, our society would be fairer.

I would like to note that when you donate to this go fund me page, the money goes directly to the charity, and not to me. 
All donations, no matter the size, are greatly appreciated, and would make such a difference.

However, if you are unable to donate money, that is absolutely fine. There a plenty of other things you can do to make a change: please sign petitions, raise awareness, and challenge those with racist ideas, even if they are difficult conversations.
