Ambers “Raising money to make memories”

A fundraiser is being set up to help my friend Amber , a mother of three beautiful boys, a partner and a step mum, who during the end of 2021, was given life changing news.

(Due to covid - I’ve had to move the date.)In summer holiday ( aug) TBC. I will be climbing 3560ft, 10 miles , 7  hour climb of Snowdonia Mountain to raise as much money as possible to ‘Raise money and make memories’ for a dear friend Amber.

The climb will be made live at certain points, and fingers crossed, weather dependant, I’ll be making it all the way to the summit!

 

Parent to parent, as a mum of three boys myself, I reached out to Amber. I felt helpless hearing her news she’s so courageously spoken about on social media.

As a friend of 10 years, meeting over the love of spray tanning, we bonded and It brings me to my plea of help from friends, family and the community.

Amber a successful business woman, formally owning a clothes boutique in the heart of Truro city centre, ‘Magpie & Fox’, and as a development manager for a well known child’s clothing range. Amber has continued her successes into other businesses with online travel agencies, and most recently founding a fashionista clothing and styling range ‘indiandRar’. Everything Amber does and is to this day is because of her strength and relentless to never give up, a person who takes positivity and gratitude out of everything she encounters .

 

Which brings me to the core of why I’m whole heartedly asking for donations for Amber and her family, to create some very special lasting memories for her and her young boys.

 

Amber who is only 41, has been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Mesenchymal-Epithelial Transition (MET) Exon 14 Skipping Mutation. It’s only diagnosed in 3% of Lung Cancer patients, the majority of whom are over 70 years of age! It’s so rare, little research has been explored.

Amber has bravely endured relentless chemotherapy treatments and Immunotherapy, who now tells me that her treatment is for quality of life not extension of life . As hard as that is to write I can only imagine its a fraction of what Amber has faced each and every day bringing up her very small boys. So fearlessly!

 

Amber who leads a very active and healthy holistic life has had her world collide with the dreaded C world. Diagnoses didn’t come easy and throughout the short time since her diagnoses, Amber has bravely documented her journey in a openly raw blog, an incredible brave act. Throughout all of this, Amber has acted selflessly and has been adamant of spreading awareness of lung cancer.

Amber has been able to document so brilliantly her journey, she’s somehow made a devastating outcome into a brilliant read who lightheartedly, talks about a diagnoses that will ultimately rob her and her children of life milestones, which undeniably, we should all reach!

 

With the positivity and prayers that we all send to Amber and her family, I am asking for a collaborative effort to raise as much money as possible. I’m asking you to spare that midweek Starbucks coffee, and to skip that weekend takeaway, to help Amber give her and her boys a holiday of a lifetime of her choice.

All monies raised will go direct to Amber and her family.

Amber is not affiliated with me wanting to raise funds for her and her family, Amber being the lovely person that she is insisted on donating it all to cancer research as she tells me she owes her life so far to the treatments received.

I’ve taken it upon myself with millions already being donated to the cause; to give Amber the opportunity and at least help towards an experience that no little boy will ever forget!

Our target is £5000 which I appreciate is lot, but realistically it will take Amber and all her boys away on a magical trip without any worry. However what ever we reach, I’m sure it can tick a memory off their bucket list!
