I have set up this Go Fund Me to raise money for a portable oxygen tank for the love of my life. Most of you know me by Jay. The most beautiful and amazing women came into my life about 9 years ago. And man those green eyes just stopped me in my tracks, thanks Andy (Amber’s Dad) LOL. It has been the most amazing and happiest 9 years of my life. This women truly changed my life, from the moment I saw her I knew that she was my “density, I mean destiny.” (I had to throw a Back to the Future reference in there being that is one of Ambers all time favorite movies) only a true fan, like her, would know that line. I am the primary caregiver of my beautiful wife and am there for her through doctors’ appointments, cooking and cleaning, getting her pills, sometimes even carrying her to the bedroom because she is so tired and out of breath from coughing. So here I am reaching out to loved ones, strangers, friends to raise money for a portable oxygen machine that will help make my wife’s life a little better and fight through this horrible illness called Cystic Fibrosis (CF) #FUCF. For those of you who know me a little, know me a lot, or do not know me at all, this is my story, at least a quick version. I am 32 years old living with a chronic lung disease Cystic Fibrosis (CF). When I was born the life expectancy was only 18, and today it’s around 36. Here I am at 32 beating the odds. This however does not come without its challenges. I have been teetering onto the end stage of CF for about a year now. The things that keep me going are exercise, a great support system, living each moment to the fullest, and all the amazing medical advancements that have only recently become available. My job is to stay healthy and alive long enough for more medical advancements to catch up. Unfortunately, my insurance will not cover a portable oxygen machine. Using supplemental oxygen has and will make things like getting around, exercising, traveling and just getting out to live life a little easier. These things I love to do are getting more difficult everyday. I am 32 years old and can’t walk up a flight of stairs without losing my breath, or run on a treadmill for more than 30 seconds before I am breathing like I ran a marathon. As this fight gets harder I just want to continue to be able to do the things I love. I cannot comfortably exercise, hike, or travel without this special oxygen concentrator. I may have to do things a little differently in life, but I never want CF to hold me back from living, breathing or being a “normal” 32 year old. Any help you can offer is more appreciated then you may realize, after all, your donation will help me breathe a little easier!
