I would like to share my daughter's time of crisis with you news that nobody wants to hear.
Amber felt a painful lump in her left breast in April, 2017. She thought about following up with the doctor and getting a mammogram done but didn't make the time to do so. In May, Amber felt the lump growing & became alarmed. She followed up with her doctor then and did an exam, mammogram, biopsy and surgery. At just twenty nine years old, Amber was given the life-altering news: "You have cancer".
Who would have guessed? At this young age, she'd hear these devastating words.
Amber is fighting this battle as a wife & mother of a 2 year-old daughter and a 10 year-old stepson. While pregnant with Delilah, her husband, Eric, decided that he would work two jobs so that Amber could stay at home to raise their children. While Eric works all those hours, Amber tries to muster the energy to manage their home. The current plan of treatment for Amber is: Five months of aggressive Chemotherapy, a mastectomy and then radiation. While battling cancer, both physically & emotionally, she still thinks of others. Her mission after treatment is to encourage other women to receive early detection & seek treatment immediately. “Don't be scared... just do it! You're worth it"!
After Amber's second chemo treatment, her hair began to fall out in large clumps while brushing it. Naturally, the loss of her hair was difficult for her. When she decided to shave her head, she reached to her best friend, Eric, to do it for her. Little "La-La" likes to rub mamma's bald head, and Amber pushes a smile & lets her do it even though it's painful. Amber would like a realistic or natural-hair wig. What woman doesn't want natural, healthy hair?
While Eric works relentlessly, even taking on handyman side jobs during limited free time, medical expenses are still mounting.
I am Amber's Mom, seeking prayers for Amber and for our family. From deep inside my heart, as a mother for my daughter, I am also asking for those of you whom God has blessed financially to bless Amber, as well.
