Hi my name is Amara Burns, and I’m 13 years old
From the 14th to 27th of July 2018, some of the best junior golfers in the world will descend on Las Vegas, USA to represent their country at the IJGA World Stars of Junior Golf and AAU Junior Olympic Games Golf Championship
On Monday the 30th May I was offered a position on the Australian Junior Golf team to compete in these championships after competing at the recent Australian Junior Age Division Championships qualifying event at Capricorn Resort, Yeppoon.
The Australian team will depart in early July to Las Vegas to compete for two weeks.
I set myself a goal of making the Australian Junior team, and it has taken 4 years of hard work to gain selection.
I believe that this trip will be a great opportunity for me, as I am just 13 years old, competing against some of the best golfers my age from around the world. By competing at these championships, it is another stepping stone for me as a golfer on the road to reaching my dream of
playing professional golf.
Over the past year I have travelled to some of the best golf events to compete with other golfers my age to enable so my golf to improve leading into the Australian Championships, and give myself competition opportunity against the best golfers in the country.
This trip is entirely self-funded and in order to get there, I am going to need some assistance. Any donations in getting me to these world championships, small or large would be extremely helpful and thoroughly appreciated.
