Hello my name is Amanda Bowen and I’m currently living in Brighton UK.
In March 2014 I was diagnosed with Grade 3 carcinoma Breast Cancer and subsequently endured a lumpectomy in May 14 and full mastectomy in Aug 14.
After a long recovery from drug-induced hepatitis following my mastectomy I gradually gained my strength and started to embrace life again.
Sadly in May this year a routine CT Scan and further Pet Scan revealed I had 40 plus tumours in my lungs and the cancer had also metastasised to my neck, spine, sacrum, femur, chest wall and lymph nodes.
I have committed my life to healing naturally and living well for as long as I can remember. As well as helping others in similar situations to get the help they need.
Despite my natural inclinations, I have embarked on conventional hormone therapy and have been blessed enough to have access to the most cutting edge drugs programme available today due to my husband’s companies private healthcare . However as with any treatment there will be side effects and impacts on my already depleted immunity and I will need to work extremely hard to support this using complimentary therapies.
With the encouragement of my oncologist I am hoping to have weekly infusions of intravenous vit c, antioxidants and ozone and hope to install an oxygen generator at home to help with my lungs.
I want to undergo tests to reveal my DNA/Genetic status and to see which supplements, drugs, herbs actually work for or against me. I already know that I have a faulty second liver pathway which poses some challenges for me in my ability to de-toxify myself from the drugs.
I hope to look into a clinic in either Mexico or Germany to engage with some cutting edge treatments to help me get well.
Since my first diagnosis I have self-funded hyperbaric oxygen three times per week, acupuncture, supplements, and an organic eating lifestyle whilst working. In the last few weeks I have also embarked on a cannabis oil programme.
During the last 3 years, my natural additional treatments have given my family a huge financial burden and as a result it will be extremely difficult to finance further and more expensive treatments without additional support. We have already put our house on the market to ensure that funds become available but know that more will be needed to endeavour to get me into remission and keep me there for as long as possible.
I guess that leaves me in a reaching out position to family, friends and anyone who feels they want to help in any way they can.
I know that with these immune boosting treatments, the best conventional medicine available and my own personal drive I have a chance of seeing my little girl grow up.
We all know someone who has been affected by this disease, my drive is to be a success story and give inspiration and hope to others, my work is by no means done yet. I’m also planning on blogging my journey and sharing as much as I can to help raise awareness.
I would be humbled and eternally grateful for any help you can give me as the odds of being here in 5 years aren’t great but I so want to smash the odds and live a long life.
