Amanda's Internship in Spain

Donation protected
Hello everyone! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Amanda and I'm a senior Global Studies (Communications track) student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Right now, you're probably wondering what a 'Global Studies' major is (don't worry, I get it all the time). The Global Studies major is a pre-professional and vigourous program that requires all students to study abroad for one semester, study eight semesters of a foreign language, and to obtain an internship abroad (which you must acquire on your own).

After months and months of application, paperwork, interviews, and preparation I have been blessed with the opportunity to intern for an audiovisual production company called Indalo y Media in Sevilla, Spain for the Fall 2017 semester. I will be working 160 hours on-site and additionally, I will be enrolled full-time (15 credit hours) through CEA and Pablo Olavide University.  As a communications major, this internship is everything I could ask for. The importance of media and television in a globalized world is becoming increasingly apparant. The skills I gain with this company will allow me to become a well-rounded, globally-minded, and prepared candidate for a potential career in the media industry.
Fun fact: This internship will be conducted almost completely in Spanish, so I'm hoping I'll be able to add bilingual to that list by the end of the program!

As you may know, living and studying in Europe can be quite expensive. Luckily, I've received some scholarships from my school, however, the budget cuts to the Wisconsin education system have also affected scholarship funds that were previously available. With my own money, I have been able to cover all anticipated living expenses while abroad as well as airfare and visa costs.  However, there is still a portion of the program costs which I haven't been able to cover.  While I know there are others who are less fortunate than I that have GoFundMe requests, I would truly appreciate any donation towards this investment for my future.

It would be an honor to have you be a part of my journey abroad to Seville, Spain this upcoming Fall semester. Your donation will allow me to grow both professionally and academically. If you would like to donate through a different alternative, feel free to contact me.

If you would like to follow me on my adventures abroad, I will be updating these social media pages:
