Sudden loss of Amanda Kelly

Donation protected
Our brother, Scott Kelly, needs our help, love and prayers.

One year ago today, family and friends gathered to celebrate the marriage of Scott and Amanda with their beautiful baby girl, Katie Rose.  On their one year anniversary we are gathered once again, overwhelmed with shock and grief, over the sudden loss of Amanda. Scott is left to face life without his love and best friend while two year old Katie has lost her “mum mum”.

On Friday, June 23rd, Amanda was en route to pick up Katie Rose while on her way home from work. She never made it.  Amanda was discovered unconscious, next to her car, by a passerby who alerted first responders.  Regrettably, despite everyone’s best efforts, Amanda slipped into a coma and no longer shows signs of brain activity. Unfortunately, we may never know the cause.

We express our deepest gratitude to the police force, paramedics and the doctors and nurses at the Queensway Carleton Hospital who cared for Amanda and assisted our family through this terrible ordeal.

Scott and Amanda shared financial responsibilities, like most young couples, and relied on both of their incomes to care for their little girl.  Along with your prayers, Scott and Katie Rose need financial help to get through the days and years ahead without Amanda.

Amanda touched the hearts of everyone she met with her kindness and kindred spirit. She enjoyed a good craic and brought smiles and laughter to so many with her zany sense of humour and hearty laugh. She had many friends and cared for them deeply. She loved nothing more than watching her love, Scott, playing at gigs like the open mic night at the Royal Oak and hearing him sing, among other songs, the special one he wrote just for her.

Amanda was a wonderful mum mum to Katie Rose and an adoring wife to Scott.  Her love for Katie Rose and Scott was fierce and unwavering.

Known as Maida to her clients, Amanda succeeded in establishing herself as a well-loved medical esthetician in several different locales, both near and far; From the Royal Caribbean Cruise line to her role as an instructor at Algonquin College, at Le Spa in Bells Corners and her most recent and exciting endeavor, Exhalo, in Barrhaven.  Maida was passionate about both her clients and beautiful, healthy skin.

Money raised will go to helping Scott and Katie get through this transition as well as create a trust fund for Katie’s education.

We thank your support and kindness,
