Financial Help for the Conrow's

Donation protected
UPDATE: February 10, 2015
Amanda Panda passed from this world into the next on February 8th at 3:12 am. She was surrounded by the family that loved her and held her through her ordeal. She has moved on and the love that she leaves us is fresh in our hearts. The purple ribbons that have adorned the world help us to see the lives and people she, and her fight, have touched.

The purpose of this page is to help Paul and Liz with the needs of taking care of the mortal remains if their little Blue Eyed girl. The goal has been set to $1 because we are only asking for you to help if you can and with what you can. There is no end point here - anything past what they need will be used for a scholarship or donation to help others.

Paul and Liz are two of the most amazing, and giving, people you will ever meet. They have 5 beautiful children. In October of 2012, Amanda (Amanda Panda as Paul calls her), at the age of 4, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was removed and she moved on to a radiation treatment. After each step she received an MRI that showed no cancer. By all accounts she was an amazing patient throughout her radiation treatment. She completed her chemotherapy treatments in early April and had a follow up MRI which showed the tumor had returned and was located in several spots along her spine. She was an amazing patient, enduring hours of MRI scans and medications, taking it much better than many adults would. Througout it all Paul and Liz kept the family close and together. In Novemeber of 2014 Amanda started slowing down. It is now January and she has passed her 6th birthday! Paul has taken some time off of work to be there with his family and his beautiful blue eyed daughter.
This fundraiser is designed to provide Paul and Liz supplemental money to help with meals, medical expenses, and other expenses toward taking care of Amanda on her journey. All money collected here will go directly to them. If you don't know the Conrows, go to their caringbridge site to read about their lovely daughter and her fight against cancer: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/amandaconrow
The Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester did a beautiful story on her and the care that she has received at Strong Hospital: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/longform/news/2014/12/23/amanda-conrow-ependymoma-rochester-palliative-care/20818197/

I created this page out of love and respect for my friends Paul and Liz. Paul and I have taught together for 14 years, co-created an innovative program in our school, and have carpooled over many years and many meetings. We have shared our childrens births, family moments, and many other events. This page is an extension of my love for them - trying to help an incredibly difficult situation a little less so. 100% of the funds collected here (minus the GoFund Me fee) goes directly to the Conrow's.
