Amali's Journey

This GoFundMe page has been set up by myself, Caitlin Saunders to help raise money for some of my good friends and beautiful young local Launceston family; Claire Brown, Brayden Worker and their gorgeous 10 month old daughter Amali who has just been diagnosed with cancer.
Amali had been sick on and off for a few weeks before her parents were told by doctors that she had bronchiolitis. When she started to have difficulty breathing late on Friday 2nd March she was taken by ambulance to the LGH where she was admitted to the children's ward. Upon further testing by doctors there, they discovered a substantial cancerous tumour in her lung. Amali was then rushed by air ambulance to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne at 2am on Sunday morning, the 4th March and in to ICU.
On Monday 5th March Amali started her courageous chemotherapy battle to help shrink her tumor. She has a long journey ahead of her, as do her parents who will be spending an extended period of time in Melbourne without their families or support whilst Amali continues her treatment and recovery, so all help is welcome.
Any monies raised will go directly to helping this family with all the unplanned costs associated with their daughters diagnosis and future medical care. Both Claire and Brayden will be away from their families and friends in Launceston for the several month stay in Melbourne whilst Amali is undergoing treatment. The financial burden put on this family will be immense as both parents will be away from their occupations. Other costs that will affect them will include; accommodations, transport, food, excess phone bills to keep in touch with family and friends and travel between Melbourne and Launceston if needed during their stay.
