Charlie Cavaiani's Story
On 02/09/2017 I suffered an accident at work that left me with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and a fractured spine at Pasco Processing. I suffered second TBI in another hospital where I was overdosed and left for dead. Fortunately, my wife being as persistent as she is, fought with all the nurses to come and help me with no luck. Everyone in the Tri Cities can guess which hospital this was. I was heading into that amazing tunnel by the time she happened to get the cleaning lady to look at me and declare a code blue. I am in an altered state which includes seizures, extreme back pain, two collapsed lungs in the lower lobes resulting in low oxygen levels, three treatments for infiltrate (pneumonia), fractured ribs from falling as a result of low oxygen, damaged eyesight from anti-seizure medication and depression as a result from this spiral downward. I am slowly progressing with my balance and am trying to wean myself off of a four-wheeled walker. L&I doctors/PA's are of no help, especially if they are not doctors but PA's. The L&I system is set up to get you in and out regardless of the state of progression or regression. They are literally full of empty promises and of no help. I plan on going to Seattle to see the best but need your help to see Dr. Stobbe in neurology and to see Dr. Cobbs who is a spine doctor. Real doctors other than the ones at the hospital, yeah!! and not PA's. I am in agonizing pain and need assistive devices that are more permanent. L&I is extremely slow in assisting my recovery which has since been 5 months. I have never asked anyone for help in my lifetime and am hoping that there may be some friends out there who may have needed help at one time in their life and got some. I pray to god that If I can get help, that I will be able to help another when called upon. I need these funds urgently to begin my road to recovery. Thank You and God Bless.
