Rena Martinez's fundraiser

I'm Tiana, Rena's bestfriend. I'm making this to spread awareness about Rena's incident and what others can do to help her and her giant loving family. On the morning of June 19th, 2014; my friends Rena and Vinson were in a terrible accident, on San Vicente Road, going towards San Diego Estates where Rena lives. It was about 4 am thursday morning when Vinson took Rena home, her mom wanted her home that night to be there for her baby brothers birthday the next morning, they were only 10 to 15 minutes away from her house when they both fell asleep. The car drifted to the left lane, hit the curb, took a chunk out of a wooden power pole, drifted across the grass and hit another power pole 25ft away on the passenger side, Rena's side of the car, she was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center, and Vinson was taken in an ambulance. We were told her whole brain was swelling, she has a broken wrist, broken arm, three broken ribs, and a punctured lung. Vinson has a fractured shoulder, fractured third disk in his lower back, fractured ribs, and a concussion. He was sent home the next day, and Rena is in her fourth day in the hospital, the docters put her into a medically induced coma, to keep her brain activity low, to keep it from stressing out and swelling. Sunday morning her brain pressure was not lower and stopped responding to medicine, it was then decided that she had to go into surgery and have both sides of her skull removed to give her brain, space to swell. We are told that there are no more options for her at this point if this doesn't work. If she does make it, she will have to learn how to walk, talk, and write all over again. This whole situation hasn't only been hard for me to cope with but, Vinson, and every single family that knows her as well. She has so much for her, she just turned 18 and graduated high school, she was schduled to start beauty school in July. I'm doing because I care for her and her family so much and they deserve all the help they can get. Rena is such a kind, caring, down-to-earth, loving, funny, weird, bubbly, beautiful person, and she needs all the help and prayers she can get. We all know her so well that seeing her go through all this, we know for a fact when she wakes up she will be mad that all her hair is gone, and all her piercings were taken out. As of right now she does not have an easy future ahead.
