Alyanna's Special Heart

Alyanna was born in October 2014 to Dakota and Anissa. She was immediately air lifted to Lubbock, Tx to have reconstructive surgery for an imperforate anus due to VACTERL association. It was there that we discovered she had a much more severe issue. She was flown to Dallas, Tx where we learned that her heart was severely underdeveloped resulting in a condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) which if not operated on is 100% fatal. At 9 days old she underwent her first open heart surgery called the Norwood procedure. 24 days later she was released from the hospital to her temporary home at the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas to await her next open heart surgery. On February 24 she had an episode in which her oxygen saturations dropped to the 30's. On March 10th at four months old she underwent the second of three open heart surgeries, this one called the Bidirectional Glenn Procedure. She is currently in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Dallas Children's Hospital.

All proceeds will go toward her and her family's stay at RMHD as well as to any expenses acquired while both of her parents leave work to be by her side.
