Alyssia Arrufat Lives In Our Hearts

Meet Alyssia. She's an energetic, fun loving girl with a generous heart for all. She was loved by family and friends and anyone who came to know her. Alyssia was born a premie at 7 months, and struggled her whole life with advanced asthma and kidney dysfunction. That didn't stop her from enjoying life and taking care of her Juju bean, her 6 year old daughter. Her and Julissa lived together with family that Alyssia also cared for. At the ripe age of 23, Alyssia had become a caregiver of several family members, a full time mother to her daughter, and still found time for her friends. All along, battling debilitating asthma which in the end was her demise. 
On September 6th, Alyssia suffered a horrible asthma attack at home that put her into cardiac arrest for 10 minutes. By the time paramedics arrived, she was non responsive and had to be resuscitated. Alyssia was rushed to the hospital and placed in the MICU. For the next 3 days, her friends and family held a vigil at the hospital for Alyssia's recovery. Unfortunately, lack of oxygen to Alyssia's brain had been too long and she suffered extensive brain damage. She had no brain activity and Alyssia passed away on September 12, 2017. The next 24 hours were grieved by all. Alyssia, always thinking of others, had decided long ago to donate her organs to others in need and even gone, she will continue to help others. 
As her family and friends gather to remember Alyssia, we ask for a small donation to fund her funeral and burial services.
