My name is Alyssa McLendon and I have some great news!!
I have the wonderful opportunity to go on a mission trip to Johannesburg, South Africa! On this trip I will be serving in an orphanage and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God alongside a growing church in Johannesburg. I will be apart of a team that will evangelize and minister to kids and adults over the course of Ten Days.
I need to raise $2,240 to go on this trip. By making a donation, you can impact the lives of abandoned and orphaned babies of Johannesburg -- many of them the healthy children of HIV parents, others babies that have simply been left to die in rubbish bins or public places -- by providing a home, a loving environment, and the hands of Christ to touch, nurture and bring wholeness of body and soul. This is my first mission trip ever and I'm super excited. Since the Lord transformed my life almost three years ago, I've had a desire to tell other people about the goodness of God. I've wanted to share with them how God loved us so much that He laid down his life for us and that He is a loving Father who desires a relationship with us. Now, I not only have the opportunity to share this with my words, but also with my actions.
On April 22, 2013, myself and 18 other people from Grace Covenant Church will be traveling to Johannesburg to serve the local children at the Baby Haven orphanage. There we will get to share the Father's love with the fatherless.
Again, I am raising $2,240 by APRIL 15, 2013.
-$1,170 of that money goes towards the ground costs of the trip
-$1,070 will go towards my plane ticket (if I don't raise this in time my plane ticket cost my increase).
