Help me to Hear with Hearing Aids

My name is Alysa (Ari) and I was recently diagnosed with moderate bilateral hearing loss (hearing loss in both ears).
I've been to an audiologist and an otolaryngologist but neither can determine a cause. It could have begun when I was younger but only reached a level that I noticed recently. It could also get worse. There's really no way to tell. But both highly recommended that I get hearing aids.
Hearing loss deeply impacts my quality of life. In conversations with friends and co-workers I frequently resort to lip-reading or simply guessing what someone is saying. I feel embarrassed constantly asking people to repeat themselves.
To admit that I have this problem and ask for help is not easy, but I feel that it's time. The cumulative effect of this constant straining, filling in the blank and guess work is exhausting and stressful. My hearing loss has taken a toll on my personal relationships and work performance.
Hearing aids are expensive and not covered by insurance . As a recent CNN article put it, hearing loss is an 'invisible,' and widely uninsured , problem. The set my audiologist recommends for my type of hearing loss and needs cost just under $2700. Your finanancial and emotional support is helping me to to reach this goal every single day.
