Hey everybody! As many of you may know, my name is Alyssa and this is my story!
I was your average kid, enjoying life, playing outside, going on bike rides, played with Lego. It was all fine until puberty started and it wasn't until I was about 15 when I found out about what being Transgender was. I kept it in for years, only coming out to a handful of people. It wasn't until I was 22 that I had decided to make a leap of faith. In May 2014, I began my journey in order to better align myself to who I was inside - I began hormones. Over the course of the next year I had slowly come out to more people before publicly coming out in November of that year. From there I have been living my life as authentically as possible. But now I've come to the next big step of my transition: Surgery.
Until recently, I had been living pay check to paycheck. But with some luck, I've managed to get myself to a steady point financially. What I need from you all is just a little bit of help to cover my costs of living for the 3 months of recovery and for electrolysis. My surgery is tentatively going to be in January or February and I will need to take a few months off for recovery because I won't be allowed to work. Will you help me out?
