<div>On February 17, 2026, our community in Altoona, Wisconsin, was shaken by an unexpected ICE kidnapping at a local construction site. <strong>Four hardworking men—fathers, brothers, sons, and friends—were taken from their jobs and remain in ICE custody. </strong>One individual was taken into custody at the scene, while the other three fled and sought refuge inside a neighboring residence. ICE approached the homeowner and constructed a misleading narrative portraying these young men as dangerous and armed. They then entered the home, deployed tear gas against unarmed individuals, and subsequently arrested them. To make matters even more tragic, this occurred on one of their birthdays, turning what should have been a day of celebration into a moment of fear and injustice.

One of them has even taken on the responsibility of caring for both his mother and his widowed sister. Their lives reflect responsibility, compassion, and integrity—not the false portrayal that was used against them. They now face a long and expensive legal battle to remain with their loved ones. While they are detained, their families have lost their primary breadwinners and are struggling to cover basic necessities like rent, groceries, and utilities.
