Help Alpaca Magic Survive The Drought

This is our farm. For weeks now, there has been no water in any of our dams. No grass in the paddocks. This is the reality of the drought.
We have over 200 animals on our farm that we and our community of supporters love and care for. They can only eat if we buy in expensive loads of hay each week, and they will only have enough water to drink if we continue to truck in thousands of litres to refill the rainwater tanks that haven’t seen significant rainfall in at least a year.
Each cow drinks 45L of water per day. Each donkey drinks 30L. Each alpaca and llama drinks 12L. With 30 cows, 16 donkeys, and 167 alpacas and llamas, that works out at 3,879L a day or 27,153L per week. Water is currently costing us $178 per 10,000L.
Each animal eats roughly 10kg of hay each day, working out to 2,130kg a day or 14,910kg (15 tons) a week. The price of good-quality hay is sitting at around $650 per ton - $9,750 a week to feed our animals what they need to keep weight on.
But in order to do this, to keep our beloved family of llamas, alpacas, donkeys and cows alive, we need funds. Months and months of drought feeding have run our reserves down to nothing.
The reality is, we may not survive this drought. It would break all our hearts to have to sell our animals and close our doors, but as the drought drags on we are running out of options. To get through the next year, we need to ask for your help. We can’t do this alone. We cannot afford these massive feed and water bills without your help.
