Boss A$$ Documentary: Alone & Wild

Donation protected
Overview
A slice of life short documentary featuring one young woman’s mission to hike one of America’s most beautiful trails. ALONE. For three weeks. Along the journey, while struggling to not eat all of her food in one day, she stumbles upon unique and inspiring stories from fellow hikers around the campfire.

The Ask
In 2017, I, Jenna Boss will be heading into the wilderness for 20 Days, hiking 220 miles with 40 plus pounds on my back along the John Muir Trail (JMT).

The JMT is a long-distance trail in California, which passes through Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Park. The trail is named in honor of Scottish environmentalist John Muir, who dedicated his life to exploring.

Exploration? Independence? I’m in. At the end of the day, it’s my heart and mission to walk down (or in this case up) roads less traveled; to dedicate the time I have on this planet to spend it in nature’s glory, and ideally to test myself in the rugged environments.

Naturally, the JMT sounded like a game changer so I signed up immediately. Who knows what will cross my path? Will I even see another human being? How will I describe the views? The survival? The lack of food because I got too excited on day 3 and ate it all? Will I have to go all Katniss Everdeen on a squirrels ass for dinner if all else fails? All of these things are possibilities.

Why the hell am I doing this?
1) To prove young women my age are capable of tough, independent journeys
2) To meet new people and share their stories
3) Multiple people have told me I couldn’t, so being stubborn AF I want to prove them wrong

WITH THAT SAID, instead of my lone hike being a really great campfire story, I’ve decided to film my journey with the most industrious selfie stick ever. Just kidding, f*** selfie sticks. They are also dangerous - fun fact: more people die from selfie sticks than bear attacks per year (15 vs 3).

Anyway, I will have to figure it out, because drones are illegal in national parks. So there’s that. BUT I will get spectacular footage and would love to share the journey with you.

I would REALLY appreciate any small or massive donation you would like to contribute. Hell, I’ll even take words of encouragement, maybe positive ones, unlike my brothers who said, “Well, it’s was nice knowing ya.”

WTF! Why that much Money?
Because Filming is expensive and I want to be safe doing it alone! Here’s a short list of the equipment I need to make this happen:

- Sony As7ii
- Zoom H4n
- 128 GB Memory Cards
- Batteries
- Solar Panel Charger
- GPS tracker
- G Series 24 -70 mm Lens
- Travel Tripod
