Almeda Fire Relief for the Diaz Family

On September 8, 2020 the Almeda fire raged through the towns of Phoenix and Talent, Oregon displacing thousands of residents and causing unfathomably sudden destruction. The Diaz family— Lorezo and Sara, their children Betsy (21) Ari (16), Zoe (10), Brisa (7); their niece, Kim (15); and their granddaughter, Ali (18 months)—lost everything. For those of you who know this family, you know they are incredibly hard working and are very unlikely to ask for help. But due to their sudden loss, the Diaz's are in need of our help at this time. The Almeda fire, carried by unseasonable winds, moved rapidly through their neighborhood and left little time for evacuation preparations. Their neighborhood was decimated. In addition to losing their home and all of their personal belongings, they also lost many of the tools that Lorenzo needs for his livelihood as well as the materials his children need to start remote learning this fall.
Our hope in generating this fundraiser is that the Diaz family can quickly access a safe place to live, a place where the family can begin healing together, and a place that can feel stable and comfortable from which the children can successfully engage in school.
Your support will make it possible for the Diaz's to achieve the stability they need to process their loss and begin rebuilding their lives.
