Almanza Family Harvey Relief Fund

Donation protected
The Almanza Family are the sweetest people you will ever meet. Unfortunately, they were impacted by Hurricane Harvey's storm in the worst way possible: they lost everything. Their home was filled with water, causing them to lose almost all their belongings, except the ones they evacuated with. As they evacuted to Cypress, Valerie (the mom) was driving along with her two kids to her mother-in-law's home while her husband rode his motorcycle behind them. As they travelled through the Houston highways that were unsafe and mostly flooded, things took a wrong turn as her husband was hit by a car while riding on the highway. Thankfully, a woman driving behind them stopped to provide aide, called the ambulance, and gave comfort to Valerie. Mr. Almanza's life was miraculously spared and he was injured with bruises and scrapes from the road but no broken bones. Mr. Almanza and his daughter are residing in Cypress so that his mother can aide in his recovery while Mrs. Almanza and her son stay with her sister in Pearland so she can still go to work as a teacher at Bridgepoint Academy. I am sad that so many people in Houston are experiencing the loss of their home, but the Almanza family is not even able to be together during this time which breaks my heart even more. Please consider donating to this family to help restore their life. They will use the funds to buy clothes, furniture for their home, replace everything they need to function again.

I know Mrs. Valerie from Bridgepoint Academy, the daycare my children attend. She has a warm smile and a beautiful spirit. Although she never taught my kids there, she always greets me and asks me how I am doing. Even though she lost everything, she still showed up to work on the first day BPA opened after the storm, regardless that she didn't have the uniform. She didn't ask anyone to do this, but many people that know her agree that she needs and deserves our help. Once the fundraiser is done, Mrs. Valerie will use this money to serve her family.
