Alma Barnes

Alma Barnes passed away on Sunday, September 25th, 2022, after a hard fight against lung disease. We ask all those who are able to please join us in donating to assist her daughters, Randi Waldrep (who just lost her husband, Darien, in a tragic accident in July) and Brittany Barnes to help as they struggle to pay for a second funeral in less than three months, as well as the hospital bills resulting from their mother’s final week of life.

Alma was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many people. She was the kind of person that if she got a phone call that someone needed help, she would drop what she was doing or get out of bed (which she did multiple times) to go help. Before her lung disease became debilitating, she loved to create things in her woodshop with her kids. She was never one who desired the spotlight. She was happiest on the sidelines, cheering her kids and grandkids on, inspiring them to do the best they can, as long as it made them happy, but also reminding them to take the time to enjoy some of the finer things in life, like games with the family. There were also many more kids who were lucky enough to be around her and call her “Mom,” experiencing her love and support. We know that her family will feel the pain of this loss for a long time to come. We only want to relieve some of the stress of her final expenses with this donation.

The hole left by the loss of Alma is already felt by so many. Thank you in advance to all who can help Randi, Brittany, and her other surviving children during this extremely difficult time.

Alma Barnes Funeral: Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at Milam County Cowboy Church at 2100 US-77, Rockdale, Texas 76567. Burial to follow at The Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale, Texas, then back to the church for a meal and to reminisce on the good times with Alma. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend. We thank y’all so much for the thoughts and prayers as we ask that they continue as we go through this extremely difficult time.
