Smart Growth for Placer County
Help us protect farmland, wetlands and endangered species! The Alliance for Environmental Leadership and 14 member organizations and citizens are raising funds to support the cost of a lawsuit to overturn the expected approval of the 14 square mile Sunset Area/Placer Ranch development. This vast, car-dependent industrial and urban-sprawling city of 78,000 people will replace our carbon-sequestering farmland and wetlands located in west Placer County, CA. 83% of the 9,000 acre site will be paved over without our intervention.
We’re not for ‘no growth’; we want smart growth! We want compact, transit friendly development, housing for all incomes-not just the wealthy. We want zero-carbon development because it is an available technology and our lives depend on it.
We’re raising money to support a lawsuit against the County’s environmentally harmful and economically discriminatory Plan. Any donation will help us. Thanks in advance for your contribution to protecting our community and our planet. Your donations are tax deductible.
