Allen Johnson Memorial Fund

Donation protected
The Stanislaus National Forest Employee Association is fundraising for Allen Johnson, our friend and colleague, who recently passed away. Allen’s Forest Service brothers and sisters as well as his fellow community members and friends would like to honor Allen and his service with a fitting memorial service to honor his lifelong contributions. The Go Fund Me account will go towards fulfilling that honor. In addition, all proceeds left from the Memorial Go Fund Me will go toward establishing a Memorial Scholarship fund in Allen’s name so that his legacy will live on in future generations.

Allen leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Martha, as well as other extended family members. He was a wildland firefighter with the USDA Forest Service, spending most of his career on the Stanislaus National Forest, Groveland Ranger District and dedicating over 40 years working in fire and fuels management.

On Aug. 31, 2021, Allen’s last assignment was working as a Liaison officer with his California Incident Management Team (IMT) 12 on the French Fire near Kernville, CA.

Visit Allen's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/AllenJohnsonMemories for more stories and photos.

As we all know, Allen was passionate about his work – and after retirement continued to make a difference with many years of service through the local firesafe council and other community groups. He touched many people’s lives, whether it was being a mentor to many in the wildland fire community, volunteering, and as a member of two California Incident Management Teams. Every time you saw Allen, he would offer support, vision, helpful guidance, and advocate tirelessly for the work we do collectively. He was best known as a giver and a leader, both personally and professionally. Allen was loved and respected by all who knew him. Another love of Allen’s was fishing, gardening, drinking a good beer and traveling with his family and friends.

Words shared by friends, colleagues and mentees since the passing of Allen Johnson: being referred to as a ‘fire dad’ by several employees. Another quote, “One of the best firefighters I ever had the opportunity to know and work with” and “Hell of a human being; kind, compassionate; a friend to all.”

Please keep his loved ones in your hearts and minds today and always.
